The pieces move to the left or 4's appear for my name on the high score list.

Cause

The registered version of Zentris for DOS allows the game to be played with a joystick. On some systems, a joystick will be detected even though none is present when the game first loads. You are asked to press ENTER to calibrate the joystick or ESC to disable the joystick.

If you do not have a joystick (or do not calibrate it) and yet press ENTER to enable it, the game thinks the joystick is being pulled to the left during the game (which causes left arrow "4" keystrokes to be inserted into the keyboard buffer).

Resolution

When the game first begins and asks you about your joystick, press ESC to disable it. Do not press ENTER at this point unless you intend to calibrate a joystick.
