Mapping

Scanning & Exporting

Since its introduction, Batch User Manager has been used by system administrators both as a utility for managing local accounts and for mapping networks. With its lightning-fast scanning engine, Batch User Manager can produce a map of even gigantic networks in just seconds.

New in version 1.20 is a universal “Export List” feature which allows the user to export the various lists of computers created by Batch User Manager during operation. Previously available only at extra cost, this feature has been integrated into all versions of the software.

What you can Export

There are many different lists of computers that can be exported:

  • A complete list of all computers on your network
  • A list of computers which are offline
  • A list of computers that do not have a local user with a specific name
  • A list of computers that do not have a local group with a specific name, or where said group is empty
  • A list of computers with a specific local user
  • A list of computers with a non-empty specific local group

Unlike CSV lists produced by many other scanning utilities, these lists are exported in XHTML format. XHTML is an ideal format for importing into Microsoft Excel—where it is neatly converted appropriately into rows and columns—as well as Microsoft Word. Further, the lists can be easily viewed in any web browser for quick viewing and searching.
