How secure is the password change procedure?ANSWERThe passwords are changed using the standard Windows API, so the passwords are encrypted in the same manner as when you log into a machine or perform a remote password change in Windows. You are not losing any security with Batch User Manager. You must be a domain administrator, or a member of another group with password changing rights, in order to use Batch User Manager. At the same time, Batch User Manager is no more secure than the standard Windows password changing mechanisms either. So if you are changing all your passwords to dictionary words, you should expect people to be able to decrypt them easily from the network traffic, using a tool such as L0phtCrack.
